I invite you to watch our IGTV!
In 2015 Denise launched her podcast called the Self-ish Latina which is about unapologetically putting yourself first on your list. It’s about life and the exploration of it as cultural beings both personally and professionally. It’s about embracing where you are, who you are, and the woman, mom, friend, daughter, wife, niece, prima, co-worker etc you want to be. In the end, like anything important, it’s about love. Self-love.
Here are Denise’s 3 tips for bicultural moms:
- Believe you belong- that way our children will have the confidence to believe it too!
- Believe in yourself – that way our children will grow up with a high self-esteem, proud of where they came from.
- Believe it is possible- that way, we take, and we create our identity. Our children will create a version of themselves honoring our ancestors.
