Living with a pandemic changed everyone. All of us, literally, had to adjust to a new way of doing things, even create new ways of reaching out and help others smile, all the while finding our own purpose, and new ways to make sense of a new normal. Enter Lisa Caprelli, children’s book author and founder of the Unicorn Jazz Brand, a series of books that teach children kindness through education and fun learning.
During the pandemic, Lisa developed a fun variety show for families called “Unicorn Jazz The Thing I Do” which can be seen on Amazon TV. Showcasing children and puppets, Lisa brings the stories in her Unicorn Jazz books to live with songs and music.

Lisa was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and has lived in Southern California for over 20 years. Bilingual and bicultural, her writing career began with her Skip a Step books and journal where she shared with her adult readers how to live A Meaningful, Happy, and Prosperous Life. In her quest to reach children with the same message, she launched Unicorn Jazz Brand.
The mother of two sons and best-selling author, Lisa is committed to teaching children to find the thing they do, what gives them inner joy, and be empowered and confident to share it with others. Through her show Unicorn Jazz The Thing I do, she wants to continue sharing her love of literacy, reading, music, and songs with families all over the world.
Among the titles Lisa has authored include Unicorn Jazz, Never Let a Unicorn Wear a Tutu, Unicorn Jazz Eye See You: Choosing kindness, and Unicorn Jazz The Thing I do, among others.
