It has been a couple of weeks since I wrote a post. I wasn’t taking a break purposely. The truth is that I have been busy and preoccupied with many upcoming projects. For one, the Spanish version of my book, Arroz con Pollo and Apple, had me a bit nervous as I had a deadline to meet and I was afraid it wasn’t going to happen. ¡Qué susto! Luckily, and thanks to my wonderful editor and friend Isidra Mencos, publishing is in the works and I should have the printed copies in my hands at the end of this month. ¡Ya verán!
In November, I get to attend the Latin Grammys courtesy of Chevy Cruze and I will be wearing my HipLatina hat and writing a post or two about the experience. This is exciting for me as it is actually the first time since I started blogging or as an online contributor that I get invited to work with a sponsor. ¡Un honor!
Planning and securing book signings and events the next few months has also been keeping me up at night. Happy to say, many of these are all confirmed now. First, I get to go to my beloved Puerto Rico in December and in addition to visiting my family, I will have several book signings events and media interviews while I am there. Nothing like home and family to recharge your batteries for the New Year to come! ¡Lista para el Año Nuevo, como dicen por ahí! Next April, I will be in Miami for a book signing and other events. After that hopefully, New York and Chicago, two of my favorite places to visit. Stay tune for details in all of these, as the timing gets closer. I will be posting invites here on my blog, on my FB page, Insta and Twitter. ¡No se lo pierdan!
For now, while half of my social media influencer friends attended #LATISM16 last week, and the other half got to experience the first #WeAllGrowFamilia event in LA last Saturday. For both, there were opportunities that inspired, motivated, educated and celebrated Latina influencers. Meanwhile, I was headed to DC with my family, for a much needed vacation and to visit close friends. A trip that had been on our calendar for a while and it was finally crossed off our bucket list!
Because it doesn’t matter how old your children are, family trips are always a treat and the memories made are forever treasured. Truly, the opportunity to celebrate family and culture? !Es invaluable!
So, don’t worry I won’t be long gone again and I will continue to stay connected and to share my writings with you.
Bai, Bai for now,
Maritere
